Description

California-based translation company is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Project Coordinator in our Warsaw office, who can coordinate the logistics around translation projects. Our project coordinators are masters at juggling projects, time and people. And as part of our global team you will overlap with offices in different time zones to ensure smooth project handoff around the clock and increase overall responsiveness and reduce delays. The position is designed either for part-time or full-time availability.

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the progress and budget of all projects and provide status updates to the Project Manager
  • Provide price and time estimates
  • Prepare files for translation and set-up projects
  • Write clear and complete project instructions
  • Review files before delivery to the client
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with vendors around the globe
  • Create of Purchase Orders and Invoices
  • Provide administrative support as needed
  • Facilitate effective communication within the international project team

 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communication in English, written and verbal
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, experience with CAT tools is a plus)
  • Ability to follow directions, prioritize and schedule tasks and work in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure with high volume and short timelines
  • Effective time management and multitasking skills
  • Proactive, willing to learn new things, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work during evening hours is required

Description

Avantpage, a translation and localization company based in Davis, CA, is seeking a motivated and dedicated sales assistant to work alongside the Sales and Marketing Departments. With a focus in the healthcare and government arenas, Avantpage works with a wide variety of clients around the United States to achieve its goal of empowering immigrant and LEP communities through access to information in their native languages.

The Sales Assistant will work part time to support the Account Manager, working flexible hours of 10 to 15 hours of work per week. Must be able to meet in the Davis office at least once a week.

 

Responsibilities

  • Data entry (XTRF translation management system, CRM, shared tracking sheets)
  • Internet and phone research to identify decision-makers within client base
  • Lead creation
  • CRM upkeep
  • Follow-up calls to prospects
  • Database/Spreadsheet creation
  • HubSpot email sequencing
  • Data mining (local business journals, online articles, etc.)
  • Participation in weekly Marketing Team meetings

Minority Language Internship: From Cultural Expert to Professional Translator

Description

Avantpage, Inc. is looking for an intern with a love for linguistics, languages, and technology. Experience gained in the classroom and through personal application will be accepted. The schedule is 4-10 hours weekly during the summer of 2017 for a maximum of 80 hours; dates negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about the project management and linguistic aspects of the localization process and participate in the translation of selected files with mentor oversight
  • Learn the process for measuring translation quality and participate in evaluating selected files with mentor oversight
  • Learn about technology and linguistic assets used in the industry; review current linguistic assets with mentor oversight
  • Assist in developing test materials for translators to qualify as Avantpage translation partners

Requirements

Applicants must speak, read, and write a minority language; that is, a language that is used by a large population in the U.S. and that is not commonly taught in the U.S. as a foreign language in schools. Applicants should share in the Avantpage commitment to serving immigrants and refugees, understand the basic functions of a language service provider, have experience communicating professionally in English in both written and oral forms, including presentation skills, excellent computer file organization skills, experience using Skype for texts, phone conversations, screen sharing, and document exchange, basic Excel skills such as formulas, graphs and charts.
