Account Manager

Description

The Account Manager ensures client needs are met by developing relationships with clients and fostering an environment for active communication. The Account Manager reports to the Director of Client Services. This is a full-time position, earning $32,000 to $45,000 annual salary.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the overall business relationship with clients
  • Explain and propose pricing and produce quotes.
  • Act as first line escalation path to clients for production and delivery issues.
  • Develop and run customer quality business reviews.
  • Grow the business organically within important accounts
  • Lead project kickoff meetings including Operations Team
  • Produce quality leads to generate new prospects and new business opportunities
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date information in Salesforce.com
  • Achieve rapport with potential customers
  • Guide qualified leads through the sales process to close the sale
  • Make sales calls and perform in-person and online presentations and demonstrations
  • Re-engage sales with dormant customers
  • Manage and maintain excellent client relations, working as liaison between client and production
  • Communicate regularly with clients to ensure satisfaction with service and product quality
  • Participate in client visits and conferences to maintain relationships and gain new sales and leads
  • Prepare sales and activity reports as required by Director of Sales

Administrative Assistant

Description

We’re looking for an upbeat, proactive person to join our growing team. This position is fulltime and located in our main office (Davis, CA). Compensation will be $17/hr or according to experience.

Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping data entry work
  • Helping with accounting related day to day activities and projects
  • Collection calls for overdue accounts receivable
  • Preparing financial reports
  • Actively keeping the books neat

Minority Language Internship: From Cultural Expert to Professional Translator

Description

Avantpage, Inc. is looking for an intern with a love for linguistics, languages, and technology. Experience gained in the classroom and through personal application will be accepted. The schedule is 4-10 hours weekly during the summer of 2017 for a maximum of 80 hours; dates negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about the project management and linguistic aspects of the localization process and participate in the translation of selected files with mentor oversight
  • Learn the process for measuring translation quality and participate in evaluating selected files with mentor oversight
  • Learn about technology and linguistic assets used in the industry; review current linguistic assets with mentor oversight
  • Assist in developing test materials for translators to qualify as Avantpage translation partners

Requirements

Applicants must speak, read, and write a minority language; that is, a language that is used by a large population in the U.S. and that is not commonly taught in the U.S. as a foreign language in schools. Applicants should share in the Avantpage commitment to serving immigrants and refugees, understand the basic functions of a language service provider, have experience communicating professionally in English in both written and oral forms, including presentation skills, excellent computer file organization skills, experience using Skype for texts, phone conversations, screen sharing, and document exchange, basic Excel skills such as formulas, graphs and charts.
