Our localization quality assurance promise produces flawless adaptation and fail-safe cultural transfer through a detailed process. Project assessment: First, your project receives a complete assessment of its components: cultural adaptation, functional adaptation, and translation. To address adaptation, our team of specially appointed linguists and engineers exhaustively detail the project for target country functionality and region-specific cultural references: abbreviations, use of color, holiday traditions, idiomatic expressions, humor and currency among others. To ensure accurate translation, our team identifies source and target languages, verifies intended audience, and calculates word count; they analyze language difficulties, search for text embedded graphics, identify items to be left untranslated, set deadlines, and determine deliverables. Project management: Upon your approval, an appointed project manager (PM) oversees the process until it is 100 percent completed to your satisfaction. The designated linguistic team – translator, editor, and proofreader - are specialists, proficient in the project’s subject and culture as residents of the target region. The engineer team is comprised of multilingual DTP artists, web designers, or other specialists who posses the technical expertise the project requires. The PM communicates the project’s details to the team, maintaining everyone on task and on schedule. Research: The linguistic team consults all available reference materials to recreate a native-sounding communication: encyclopedias, dictionaries, Internet, chat rooms, libraries, friends and family, as well as personal experiences. The engineer team tests the English original on target-country systems, taking note of the necessary technical adaptations. Translation: A translator adapts the project’s source language to the target country’s language while accounting for cultural context and references. If available, the translator will also utilize existing translations, glossaries, and translation memory to render further consistency and accuracy. Editing: An independent native speaker from the project’s geographical target examines the translation’s grammar, fluidity, and regional context for completeness in all aspects. Proofreading: A third native-speaker performs a linguistic review of the translated and edited document, and checks for consistent geographic readability. Formatting/Engineering: Documents are produced with a desktop publishing program; target-relevant images are inserted along with the translated text. For multimedia, our programmers and engineers recreate a natural interaction, familiar to the target region. Proofing: Formatted documents and translated multimedia are extensively examined to ensure non-linguistic standards of completeness, correctness, and consistency are met. Testing: Lastly, the project is returned to its native linguistic team so that members can verify its functionality for foreign systems. If desired, we test the localized document or multimedia on a small sampling of your target audience.
